Wellesley Partners takes the top spot in Asia

Eban leads the poll in Japan

Asiamoney is pleased to announce the results of its 9th annual Headhunters Poll. Following a rigorous auditing process, Asiamoney accepted a total of 725 valid questionnaires from senior executives within Asia-Pacific’s financial services industry, all of whom are responsible for hiring decisions and directly interact with headhunters.

Wellesley Partners has been voted Asia ex-Japan’s best headhunting firm for the first time, beating Matthew Hoyle International into second and Global Sage into third place. Profile Search & Selection enjoys a notable rise from 13th to fourth, while The Laurus Group comes fifth.

In Japan, Eban tops the poll for the second time and Robert Walters rises to take second position, forcing last year’s winner Global Sage into third. T2 Tokyo soars from 16th place in 2008 to fourth this year, while Spencer Associates slips from third to fifth spot.

For the individual rankings Matthew Hoyle of Matthew Hoyle Financial Markets claims the top spot as the best executive in Asia. Alice Liu of Lionrock International remains second, while Christian Brun of Wellesley Partners climbs to third place. May Koon of Global Sage slips from first in 2008 to fourth this year and Nick Green of The Laurus Group is voted fifth.

In Japan, Matthew Miller of Global Sage is voted the market’s first-ranked headhunting executive, with Simon Spencer of Spencer Associates following in second place. T2 Tokyo’s James Graham enters our polls in third, while Simon Hayes of Eban drops from first to fourth. Kojiro Nojiri of Tiglon Partners rapidly climbs from 14th place in 2008 to fifth this year.
