RBS to cut staff in Asia division merger

The UK bank intends to fire personnel in Asia as it merges its cash management and corporate banking businesses, but its fixed income operations should remain unaffected.

Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) will release staff in several divisions as it merges its global transaction banking and corporate banking divisions, as part of a broader downscaling of its investment banking operations.
