Low liquidity plagues corporates in Asia: Fitch

Asian corporates have lower levels of liquidity than their developed market peers due to lack of committed bank facilities in some countries and over-reliance on short-term debt, says the ratings agency.

According to a research report released by Fitch Ratings yesterday (January 31), forms of funding tend to be short term – whether from banks or bonds – in developing markets. This has negatively impacted corporates’ liquidity as a result.
